Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our products, services, and process.

What products does Dekoris offer?

We specialise in blinds (Roman, Venetian, Honeycomb, Zebra, Roller), curtains, and home décor accessories. Each suited to different rooms, light needs, and aesthetics. All products are available in a wide range of colours and materials.

How long does installation take?

Most residential installations are completed within 1-2 days, depending on the number of windows. Commercial projects may take longer. We'll provide a timeline during your consultation.

What makes Dekoris different?

Dekoris is a Namibian company specialising in premium window blinds with patent-pending no-drill installation, three control-system options (cordless, corded, motorised), and certifications including OEKO-TEX 100 and NFPA 701. We design and install for homes, offices, hotels, healthcare facilities, and institutional buildings across Namibia.

Do you offer motorised blinds?

Yes! Most of our blinds are available motorised, controlled by remote, wall switch, smartphone app, or voice assistant. Power can come from battery, mains, or a compact solar panel — so no wiring is needed. Ask us about motorised solutions during your consultation.

What is the difference between the five blind types?

Honeycomb blinds use a three-dimensional cellular structure for thermal insulation and soft light diffusion. Roller blinds are clean and minimalist, ideal for offices and modern interiors. Zebra blinds alternate sheer and solid bands so you can shift between privacy and an open view. Roman blinds drape in soft folds and bring a substantial, textile feel. Venetian blinds (in aluminium or wood) give precise horizontal light control with a classic finish.

Is the consultation free?

Yes, we offer a free initial consultation where we visit your space, take measurements, discuss your preferences, and provide a quotation at no cost.

Are your fabrics safe and certified?

Yes. Our fabrics carry OEKO-TEX 100 certification (free from harmful substances) and NFPA 701 fire-retardancy certification for commercial and institutional use.

What are your payment terms?

We require a deposit before manufacturing begins, with the balance due on installation. Full terms are outlined in your quotation.

What warranty do you offer?

All our products come with a manufacturer's warranty. Blinds typically carry a 3-5 year warranty, and our installation workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months.

How do I clean and maintain my blinds?

For most fabrics, light dusting with a microfibre cloth or vacuum brush attachment is enough. Honeycomb and Roman blinds occasionally benefit from a gentle wipe with a damp cloth. Venetian and aluminium slats can be cleaned slat-by-slat with a soft cloth. We walk you through care for your specific fabric at installation, and you can always call us if anything needs attention.

Do you offer commercial and healthcare installations?

Yes. We work across residential, commercial, healthcare, and institutional spaces. For healthcare and hospitality projects we offer anti-microbial, easy-to-clean fabrics that meet sector standards.

Do you serve areas outside Windhoek?

While we are based in Windhoek, we do take on projects in other parts of Namibia. Contact us with your location and project details, and we'll let you know if we can assist.

How do I measure my windows?

Read our step-by-step measuring guide for a full walkthrough, or book a measuring appointment and we will do it for you.

What is no-drill installation, and how does it work?

No-drill blinds attach to your window frame using a patent-pending tension and clip-fit system — no screws, no anchors, no holes. Installation typically takes minutes per window and the blind is fully removable and repositionable without leaving a mark.

What's the difference between inside fit and outside fit?

Inside fit sits within the window recess for a sleek, built-in look. Outside fit mounts on the wall around the window, ideal for shallow recesses or making windows appear larger.Inside fit — blind sits within the window recessOutside fit — blind mounts on the wall covering the openingFor a full walkthrough with measuring steps for each, see our measuring guide.

Will the no-drill system damage my walls or window frames?

No. The system grips the frame using tensioned pressure points that distribute load evenly. We have fitted them on uPVC, aluminium, wood, and heritage timber frames without surface damage. If you are not sure your frame is compatible, we will confirm during the free measurement visit.

Are no-drill blinds suitable for rental properties?

Yes — this is one of the primary reasons our customers choose them. You can install, remove, and reposition the blinds with no permanent fixtures, making them ideal for tenants, short-term homes, and properties where landlord approval matters.

Are no-drill blinds as secure as drilled ones?

Yes. The tension system is rated for the full weight of the blind plus normal operation. For very large or unusually heavy installations we offer permanent bracket systems where drilling is preferred — your consultant will recommend the right option based on the window size.

How do I know which blind is right for my space?

It depends on your priorities: privacy, light control, insulation or style. Our team offers free consultations to match the right blind to your room and decor. For help choosing colours that work with your space, read our guide: The Power of Colour in Interior Design.

Do you offer made-to-measure blinds?

Yes, all our blinds are custom made to your exact window measurements for a precise fit.

Are honeycomb blinds really more energy efficient?

Yes, their cellular structure traps air, insulating against heat in summer and cold in winter, which can reduce heating and cooling costs. For the full science, read our blog: How Honeycomb Blinds Cut Your Energy Bills All Year Round.
